At Aucott Interior Design we understand that preserving historic buildings requires a great deal of care, attention to detail, and expertise. As custodians of historic buildings, you will be aware how important it is to preserve them for future generations. We work with owners of heritage and listed buildings to ensure they are thoughtfully restored, sustainable and fit for purpose for many years to come.
Each heritage project is unique and presents its own set of challenges so we also work alongside Heritage Consultants and other specialists who can provide advice on Listed Building Consent and the use of suitable materials. Whether you need to invest in conservation work or are seeking to enhance an existing Heritage or Listed building, we create designs which are sensitive and sustainable. Calling on historical references and blending with the practicality of modern comforts, we design interiors for historic buildings which are considered and appropriate to the space.

Let’s Discuss Your Project
The first step is to meet with you to take a comprehensive design brief so we can discover what your goals are for your historic building. We will conduct a detailed site survey and take photographs and measurements so accurate plans can be drawn.

Concept & Spacial Design
From the detailed site survey, we then create 2D floor plans and concept boards which indicate how the space will look and feel.

Design
Development
Once the initial concepts have been approved, we then develop the designs considering the needs of all stakeholders and provide scheme boards specifying the FF&E (furniture, fixings & equipment) as well as 3D visuals and electrical layouts.

Tender & Design
Sign-off
Once the technical designs have been signed off, we then put together detailed construction documents along with FF&E schedules and approach contractors to tender for the project.

Implementation & Installation
If requested, we can oversee the project management of the construction phase working closely with contractors and suppliers to ensure that the designs are executed as intended. We will undertake the procurement, schedule the deliveries to site at the appropriate times and install all the FF&E according to the scheme.

Styling &
Walk Through
Finally, we will style each space with decorative accessories and artwork. We will walk through the project with yourselves and the principal contractor to address any snagging which may be required. Once we are all happy that the work is complete, we will also arrange for professional photography before formally handing over your Heritage or Listed Building to you.
Aucott Interior Design is based in Dorset, but we happily undertake projects across the UK and internationally.
