Meet Sonia
An interior designer who understands how rural venues operate
I’m Sonia, a BIID Registered Interior Designer with over 20 years’ experience. I founded Aucott Interior Design in 2011 and specialise in heritage buildings and hospitality interiors, from wedding venues to farm and estate accommodation.
I’m also co-founder of the Rural Diversification Collective, which helps farmers and landowners explore new income streams, and of RetreatList, a new directory launching in 2027 that connects rural venues with corporate event planners. So I spend my working life thinking about how rural businesses win bookings, and every scheme I design starts there.
You’ll work with me from the first conversation to the final styling, with no handovers.

Let’s talk
A free 30-minute call about your venue, your guests, your budget and your goals. If it is the right next step, a half-day Place Identity Consultation on site follows.
Concept and layout
I develop the spatial plan and design concept, with mood boards you can react to.
Design development
Materials, furniture, lighting and finishes are worked up in detail.
Tender and sign-off
Clear drawings and specifications go to trusted contractors and suppliers for pricing, and you approve the scheme.
Delivery
I oversee the work and orders so the scheme is built as designed.
Styling and walkthrough
I style the finished spaces and walk through them with you, ready for guests.
